Lisa Whitaker was born and grew up inNewJersey,USA. In high school she committed her life to the Lordandalso beganto seriously consider missions as a life longcall.
From 1982-1986 she attended Liberty University inVirginia,USAwhere she received a B.S. degree in PhysicalEducation.
After teaching physical education for 5 years, shejoinedYouthWith A Mission (YWAM) in 1992 doing a DiscipleshipTrainingSchool(DTS) in Kona, Hawaii with outreach to Russia. During1993and 1994she was involved in the pioneering of DTSs inKrasnodar,Russia. In1995 Lisa moved to Budapest, Hungary to workwith MaureenMenardgiving leadership to the first Collaborative DTSProjectfocused onthe Balkans, Central Asia and Turkey.
Lisa has been part of YWAM’s International DTS Centre forthepast20 years. She has a passion for pioneering new DTSs,teachinginschools, doing staff training and being involved withchurchplantingand local outreach wherever she lives. She hastraveled to71 nations- and has lived in Russia, Hungary,Switzerland,Kazakhstan,Kyrgystan, Serbia and Bosnia &Herzegovina.
