If reaching your goals and dreams seems too hard, too long, too painful, or too far out of reach, Bethany Rutledge, author of Courage to Tri, shares why hesitations and doubts are normal but don’t have to stand in the way of your calling. This episode will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and dare to change one thing.

Discover the courage to:

  • Make the shift from extrinsic desires to one intrinsic “why” so you can reap the rewards of relationships that add value to your life and others
  • Delve into new and untested things as you turn outcomes into checklists so you can successfully overcome the obstacles that tempt you to give up
  • Create sustainable accountability so you can leverage the power of a supportive community that will make your endeavors qualitative, sustainable and worthwhile

About Bethany Rutledge

Bethany Rutledge contributes to triathlon and endurance sports publications regularly such as Triathlete Magazine, Women's Running, IRONMAN, TrainingPeaks, and more. She is the author of the forthcoming book THE COURAGE TO TRI (Meyer & Meyer Publishing).

Once an unlikely endurance athlete, she and husband John are now co-owners of Atlanta Triathlon Club, a large triathlon community in Atlanta, GA. The couple also owns Energy Lab, a unique cycling and coaching studio. Throughout her career as a coach, Rutledge has worked with hundreds of athletes, each with their own inspirational story.

A two-time Kona qualifier, Bethany's personal racing goals vary year to year. Some years she's an IRONMAN addict, some years it's down to exclusively jogging with Bailey. Bethany also co-hosts a weekly podcast "Grit and Dirt," showcasing athletes who've made huge life changes (the grit) and the path that led them there (the dirt).

Sound pretentious? It’s not an oversell. It’s valid. One year after becoming an “adjunctpreneur” one man sought to replace his regular income with coaching income in 365 days. It didn’t happen by dabbling about or attempting osmosis. Tune in to hear about Andy Wood’s personal journey and glean the insights you need to build your own fully sustainable coaching practice.

You’ll hear more about:

  • How to get specific and bold about your goals so you can make the shift from skill development to business-building
  • How having a “bias for action” helps you answer the question, “What 3 things do I need for my coaching business to succeed?”
  • How to make a difference in someone else’s life by being an instrument of growth and transformation
  • How to take the mystery out of networking and zone in on value-added relationships, with no hook attached

About Andy Wood:

You won’t find MADISEL in the dictionary… yet. But hang out with Andy Wood for any length of time and you’ll hear about it. MADISEL is an acronym for “Make a difference in Someone Else’s Life,” and that is what has driven Andy for the last 40 years.

Whether as an author, professor, church leader, consultant, coach, or seminar leader, Andy has invested his life in communicating truth with passion and personally encouraging others. He has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, 32 years of pastoral ministry experience, and 14 years’ experience as a university professor, where he has taught more than 10,000 future leaders.

Andy started transitioning into professional Christian coaching in March 2017 and in just over a year has seen 45 clients in various settings. His main focus is on leaders and performance-driven professionals, including business owners, pastors and ministry leaders.

He’s about to celebrate 35 years of marriage to Robin, his wife. Together they have three married children and nine little champions of the heart who call them “Papa” and “Grammy.”

In this episode, Cheryl Scanlan will share:

  • The unifying factor in life, ministry, and work

Whether you need Marriage Coaching or want to become a Marriage Coach, listen in to tap into a radically different way of helping yourself and others. Consider powerful questions such as these, what does your marriage need right now? And what would it look like if your marriage flourished?

In this episode, we'll dive deep into this distinct way of proactively working with couples by sharing:

  • The major differences between Marriage Coaching and Marriage Counseling so you can be clear about what to expect
  • How to coach the marriage, not the individual people, so your clients can learn how to coach their own marriage
  • How to slow a conversation down so couples can hear each other and agree on action steps
  • How to know if a person is a good candidate for marriage coaching and how to make the referral
